Reggie Rucker, VP of Marketing and Sales, has experienced marketing from a variety of angles at a relatively young age. Until fairly recently, the principles of marketing he in part learned from his studies at Washington University in St. Louis were applied in venues from songwriting to substitute teaching, operating a small business of his own to coaching high school basketball. Though the applications varied, the core remained constant. Deliver a message that appeals to the target audience, and encourage action in your favor.
Sure, it is no small task to create an ad that makes the phone ring, but try getting a 13 year old boy to pay attention to you and follow instructions as a substitute teacher. Try getting a 14 year old girl, who has never played basketball and would just as soon be on MySpace, to run a play and make a shot. It is in these venues that Reggie cut his teeth on the concept of engaging an audience and creating action.
Reggie's passion for songwriting eventually led to the purchase and operation of a commercial recording studio in Ceres, CA, where he broadened his marketing experience in a more professional environment. He went on to take these invaluable experiences in the pursuit to drive sales for his own company, and began applying them to other clients in his work at Republic Marketing.
His role at Republic Marketing varies from day-to-day, just as they have throughout his working career. From discussing marketing strategies with clients to developing Web sites, proofing copy in brochures and flyers to researching the latest trends in social media, though the roles may differ, the responsibility is clear and consistent: find and implement cost effective marketing strategies to drive revenue for the client. But you have to figure, if he can make a 13 year old boy behave, anything else is a piece of cake!
